COSS / Skilled Operative

Location:

The role will be based out of our Gatwick Office / Sites based across Kent and Sussex.

Overview:

Due to continued growth and the securing of a 10-year Framework, B & M McHugh are recruiting for a COSS / Skilled Operative for ongoing midweek and weekend work in the Kent and Sussex area.

Role & Responsibilities:

We are looking for a COSS (Nights) to undertake platform and guttering works on stations across the South East Network. Works will involve working at heights.

The main responsibilities will be for attending and rectifying faults which get issued on train station buildings, canopies and platforms as part of a planned maintenance contract. Works comprise of the maintenance and repair of buildings and structures, in response to defects and issues raised by occupants, users or following routine inspections of these facilities. The work, being of a maintenance and repair nature, will be diverse and occur at irregular intervals.

Works will include groundworks, minor glazing repairs, timber repairs and general property maintenance.

If successful, you will joining an established team we have in the area, and will be looking at 5/6 days a week with a guaranteed minimum 40-hour week.

Key Responsibilities:

This is a hands-on, safety-critical role where you will be part of a team.

Candidate Profile: It is envisaged that the successful candidate will ideally have the following:

• COSS ticket.

• SSSTS or experience running a team.

• Living in Sussex, Kent or the surrounding areas.

• Willing to work shifts, including days, nights and weekends.

• Full Clean Driving License.

• Self-motivated with the ability to use own initiative.

• A good level of attention to detail.

• Good communication and grasp of the English language.
