Company History
Bernard McHugh founded the company back in 1967 having previously spent many years gaining hands on experience in tunnelling and underground work construction. Since 1975, B & M McHugh, backed by an experienced team of qualified staff, has developed a general Building and Civil Engineering capability, specialising in the Rail, Highways and Utilities sectors.
B & M McHugh continues to offer the same degree of commitment to quality, professionalism and pride as when the company started out in 1967.
1967
B & M McHugh founded by Bernard McHugh undertaking construction work primarily in tunnels and underground locations.
1975
B & M McHugh develops a general Building & Civil Engineering capability.
1999
The second generation of the McHugh family assume overall responsibility of the company.
2009
B & M McHugh awarded Network Rail Minor Works Frameworks for East Anglia & Kent and Property Works for Kent.
2017
B & M McHugh celebrates 50 years in operation.
2018
B & M McHugh awarded Network Rail Building Asset Management Frameworks in Kent and Sussex.
2020
B & M McHugh secures new Frameworks with London Borough of Bexley and Thames Water, and continues to expand capabilities in all sectors.
